The first Rex Young Panther Legend Award was given to Dr. William F. (Bill) Bennett., PHS66, during the 2022 Panther Gathering.
T Jay Collins, PHS64, was presented the 2nd Rex Young Panther Legend Award during the 2023 Panther Gathering.
The Rex Young Panther Legend Award will be bestowed upon a member of the graduating classes at PHS who has shown extraordinary leadership and accomplishment in his or her field of endeavor; and for contributions to our society and our country.
It is given in honor and remembrance of Rex Young, class of ’65 who lost his life while gallantly defending his platoon in Vietnam and was awarded the Medal of Honor.
